Yes they are, anything that changes the hair structure is. You just need to use the right maintenance products. But it's a choice some make.Stylists be honest, are RELAXERS really bad for african american hair?
Anytime you use any chemical on your hair, whether it's a perm, color or relaxer it's compromising the the strength of the hair. If I had to pick between the three I would say that relaxers do tend to be probably the harshest of the three.





You may want to treat your hair with protein treatments. Consult your stylist, she'll know something to recommend.
they arn't, in moderation. a good rule of thumb is to never put apermanentt on top of anotherpermanentt or else you will have breakage.
Relaxers are bad for ANY type of hair. Anything to do with Chemicals is damaging.
